Naomi & Simon: Married

One of the things that stuck with me from when I first met Naomi and Simon was the vision they had for their day. They wanted it to be fun, relaxed and everything that a wedding should be... a celebration. For them it wasn't just a day for themselves, but one for their family and friends. Something for everyone to enjoy. I'm glad to say that the day sure did deliver! 

I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a couple more in tune with one another than Naomi and Simon. They were a joy to work with. Constantly laughing and joking, they were as laid back as any couple I've had the pleasure of photographing. Their day was one filled with laughter, fun and games... the way any wedding should be. With family and friends coming from far and wide, not even the weather could spoil the occasion.

Gemma & Russ: Married

It's a great feeling, photographing a wedding where not at any point of the day does it feel like work. Gemma and Russ' wedding at the lovely Secret Garden in Gringley, Nottinghamshire was definitely one of those. The whole occasion was a pleasure to be a part of from start to finish, even if I did have to spend 45 mins in a plastic pancho due to a downpour. The venue looked incredible and is one which I recommend highly. The bride looked stunning and with Russ and one of his best men (Jerome) kitted out in military uniform, is was impossible not to get some great shots.

I think I'll have two lasting memories from this day. One of those will be the silent disco, which was the first one I've had the pleasure of witnessing first hand. They're hilariously good fun, espcially if you're the one without the headphones. Listening to the guests sing along to what ever channel they've tuned in to was hard on the ears at times, but you couldn't help but smile and join in. My second memory will be the speeches. All four of them were brilliant but the grooms speech was one which I think I'll remember for a long time. I don't think I've ever heard one that came across so heartfelt and grateful. There was barely a dry eye in the room after Russ had finished.

Gemma and Russ are a wonderful couple and it was a privilege to be a part of their day. I wish them all the success in marriage. Congratulations to them both.

Gemma & Russ: Pre-Wedding

Amiee & Olkan: Bump

On Sunday, I met up with Amiee and Olkan. In just a few weeks time, they'll be celebrating the arrival of a little baby boy and they wanted some shots to mark the occasion as a bit of a bump shoot. They've been married now for around 5 years and have since moved to Derby. It was their wedding in fact, that actually gave me my first taste of wedding photography. It's always especially nice to have the opportunity to see people from past shoots and work with them again. Huge congratulations to them both and I wish them the best of look in the adventures of parenthood.
