Pippa + Liam

A wedding at Carlton Towers always looks spectacular at any time of the year... but a Christmas wedding is a whole new level!

Pippa and Liam’s wonderfully intimate day just a couple of days before Christmas was a joy to be a part of. With the huge Christmas trees, classic car, grand details and who can forget Pippa’s cape... this was a little bit of magic.

Who cares that the weather isn't great when the autumn colours look this good? There’s something about those orange and red tones that just add a bit of extra magic to a wedding day. The bride (Sophie) looked absolutely stunning, as did the groom (Matt). Both were incredibly laid back and more than happy to brave the cold damp conditions to get some stunning shots on the magnificent grounds at Elsham hall.

Simply put, Megan and Brin’s wedding day was a dream to photograph from start to finish. A traditional church ceremony followed by a farm yard reception on a beautiful summers day. So much time, love and care had gone in to every aspect. Brin himself had worked tirelessly the weeks leading up to the wedding to get an old, unused (for weddings at least) barn ready for their reception. Many must have thought they were mad but after adding the beautiful hand picked details, an empty unloved space was truly brought to life. Throw in a vintage American muscle car, a stunning bride in the most elegant of dresses and host of smiling happy faces and you have a winning formula in my book.

When a couple put so much time and effort in to their wedding day, it’s impossible to not get sucked in to it and share that enthusiasm. I hope these photos give a taste of what was such a special day.

This wedding had everything! A traditional yet beautiful church ceremony, a farm yard reception and a day full of wonderful vibes.

Jessica looked absolutely stunning in her Caroline Castigliano dress, probably the nicest I’ve photographed this year. With exquisite food and absolutely stunning flowers, this day was full of beautiful details.

It feels like an eternity ago that I met up with Lisa and Mark and discussed their vision for a beautiful summer wedding in the heart of Lincolnshire. Listening to their enthusiasm and the meticulous plans, it was impossible not to look forward to it and I’m glad to say, it certainly didn’t disappoint

The ceremony was in the most beautiful little chapel (St. Benedict’s), tucked away in the fields just outside Horncastle and the reception, just a stones throw away at Scrivelsby Walled Garden . So close in fact, all the guests walked across the long grassy fields from the church. A fantastic touch and something quite unique.

Once inside the garden, the couple were blessed in another ceremony by Mark’s father before the guests made the most of the garden games and sipped champagne. Soon after, the heaven’s opened and everyone ran for cover in the tent. I have to be honest, there were times when I didn’t think we’d see the sun again that day. However, as the tables were cleared and the couple danced along with their guests, we were treated to the most beautiful sunset, providing an opportunity for some glorious golden hour portraits.

Lisa and Mark’s wedding delivered in every possible way. Wonderful people in the most wonderful of settings.

A wedding at any time of the year is a special thing. However there is something about an autumn wedding. Nicola and Alan chose to get married at Elsham Hall. It was my second wedding there this year and despite only being a matter of weeks since the first one, it was almost as if it was totally different place. The rich autumnal colours brought a whole new feel to when I had been there previously, only to be enhanced even further by Nicola's decoration choices which features a lot of burnt oranges and reds. The whole occasion looked totally resplendent and the atmosphere throughout the entire day was one of pure happiness..

Nicola and Alan were a joy to photograph. Laid back, calm and keen to enjoy their day with their closest family and friends. Congratulations to them both.

Jess & Paul: Married

You often hear the Greek island of Santorini being described as a 'bucket list' type of destination. With it's unique landscape, idyllic, quaint towns and postcard views, I can certainly see why.

So when Jess & Paul got in touch asking me to be a part of their wedding day it's fair to say the decision was an easy one. Le Ciel, on the outskirts of Imerovigli was the location for the most beautiful and intimate of ceremonies. With a handful of their closest friends and family in attendance, Jess and Paul's day was spectacular from start to finish.

It was also rather hot. Even now, I'm still not sure how the groomsmen managed in the mid-summer heat wearing a 3 piece suit! When it came to whisking the couple off for some photos, it was a photographers playground with incredible architecture, rustic details and panoramic views galore.  As you can probably tell, I rather enjoyed it!

I've been looking forward to blogging this wedding for quite some time. Everything about this day looked magical. A woodland wedding with the most amazing details and a beautiful and kind couple who compliment one another wonderfully. Laura and Gavin both looked amazing and I'm so happy that their day was everything they had hoped for.

I'd heard so much about the plans for the woodland ceremony and I'm glad to say that it surpassed all expectations. Creating this wonderful outdoor space had been a real labour of love for Gavin and the team at Hirst Priory who had worked tirelessly in the weeks and months leading up to the big day to make sure it was perfect. Of course, all fingers and toes had been crossed for good weather and we weren't disappointed with a beautiful sunny day that allowed things to run as planned. With lawn games aplenty and the drinks flowing in the evening sun, this really was a day filled with love and happiness.

Here is the story of their day.

This was one hell of a wedding! An incredible venue (I dare say, one of my favourite settings so far), stunning details and a really great couple.

It was the better part of 2 years since Amy had booked me to photograph her wedding with husband-to-be Jason. Since then I'd only seen them once, very briefly during a short recon trip to the Vicarage Boutique Hotel, Nottinghamshire. It was immediately clear why they'd been so keen to book this venue. Modest in size, but stunningly finished. The Vicarage Hotel oozes class. The same can be said of the couple and their guests. Everyone was so well catered for and the whole day was smiles all round. Even The odd rain shower couldn't spoil things.

Huge congratulations to Amy & Jason.

Ashley & Rob: Married

A beautiful summers day at The White Heather in Lincolnshire provided a fitting backdrop for Ashley and Rob’s wedding. It was quite the opposite of their ‘wash out’ of a pre-wedding shoot a few weeks earlier and I for one was so happy that they got the weather they deserved. I’ve always been a sucker for details and everything about this day was executed so well. Ashley obviously has good taste! The flowers, the tables and all the little trinkets around the room all worked so well. Even the bridesmaids dresses worked wonderfully alongside the little hut outside for the photographs… although maybe that’s pure co-incidence. We’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Congratulations to Ashley and Rob. I hope you all enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed being a part of the day.
